Melbourne storms into its 20th season still the benchmark on and off the park.
Since claiming an inaugural premiership in just its second season, the Melbourne Storm has been one of the most amazing success stories and the measure by which excellence is measured, not just in the NRL, but across the country’s wider sporting landscape.
Celebrating 20 seasons in 2018, the club representing Australia’s sporting capital enters this season’s NRL campaign as reigning minor and major NRL premiers AND World Club Champions for a third time, after easily seeing off English champions Leeds in front of a large an enthusiastic crowd at the perfectly appointed AAMI Park.
Now in his 16th season as Storm coach, Craig Bellamy has grown a reputation as one of the finest sporting minds and motivators and the club has become the envy of the rugby league world, replacing champions of the game with relative unknowns who build reputations of their own in the famous navy and purple.
This year that responsibility falls to halfback Cameron Munster and his deputy Brodie Croft, filling the shoes of the incomparable Cooper Cronk, who has moved to the Sydney Roosters for personal reasons. For any other club it would be a body blow, at the Storm its business as usual in the hunt for back-to-back titles. And despite a youthful squad overall, skipper Cam Smith, champion fullback Billy Slater and the returning Ryan Hoffman offer decades of experience and class.
The club's match day experience is as good as any professional club with particularly exceptional ticket and hospitality packages, corporate options and unique VIP experiences.
