The Premier of Victoria, The Hon Daniel Andrews, is delighted to host the third annual ‘Premier’s Cup’, in conjunction with the Australian Golf Industry Council (AGIC). Melbourne’s corporate world will join politicians, professional golfers and celebrities at Royal Melbourne Golf Club on 3 September 2018 to hit the fairways and raise money for a worthy cause.
The 2018 event will be raising funds for the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne - Australia’s first and leading specialist hospital for the health and wellbeing of women and newborns. The Premier is proud to be supporting the Hospital, which every year supports women from 189 countries, who speak 90 different languages and follow 70 separate religious faiths.
Last year’s event raised approximately $245,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Good Friday Appeal. The Premier’s Cup is a great opportunity to network with peers while enjoying one of the world’s great golf courses, host to the 2019 President’s Cup.
Following the golf, a gala dinner will be held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club for all participants.
Both the 2016 and 2017 events were sold out, so we encourage you to purchase your team of four as soon as possible.
Parking is on-site at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. You will be directed by parking attendants on arrival.
Registration will take place from 11.00am onwards in the Royal Melbourne Clubhouse. All players are asked to be present no later than 11.30am for a player briefing at 12.00pm.
Player briefing will take place at 12.00pm sharp. Given the layout of the East and West Courses at Royal Melbourne, players on selected holes will be transported by shuttle bus or carts to their tees. For players allocated to these holes, we ask that you do not bring a pull buggy as they will be supplied.
How to play Gentsomes: Similar to Ambrose the group of four players combine as one team. On each hole all 4 players hit their tee shot then decide which ball is in the best position.
All players place their ball within one club length of where the selected ball lay (but not nearer to the pin). If the chosen ball is in the rough or hazard, all other balls must be dropped in the same position. From this point on, all players play out the hole individually to record an Stableford score based on their handicap.
At the completion of each hole, the best two out of the four Stableford scores are recorded.
The player whose tee shot is chosen on each hole must be recorded. A minimum of three tee shots per player must be taken during the round.
Please note: Par 3’s are played individually and the tee shot of a player does not go towards the three required overall.
The team with the highest points score wins the day.
